As many of you know November is now Movember.
During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in Ireland and around the world. The aim of which is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer.

I myself was band from growing any sort of facial hair. So I have been drumming up support for 3 members of Staff in the office who in one shape or another are participating in movember.

Dell is now the leading company in Ireland collecting for this event, with almost €14000 collected in the first 2 weeks in Novmeber and the total standing at over €19,000.

A few of my team mates in the Dell Solution Centre in Limerick are taking part and between them they have already raised €1,481.

Two of the lads are following Movember tradition and growing fine moustachery.

You can view their profiles and donate to them here:

One colleague who has been bearded for many a year wanted to get involved in the event, Jeff was threatened with divorce if he ever shaved it off, so he decided to shave his head if he made €500. Before he knew it the team had donated the €500 in a matter of hours. Jeff’s new target was €750 and when reached he would then paint his now clean shaven head blue !!

Something like this:

Thanks to Colin Healy for the Photo

Everyone loves seeing someone making a fool out of themselves so the €750 was reached within 24 hours.

I guess Jeff realised that he wasn’t going down alone !!!
So the members in my team taking part in movember
Mike, Andrew and Jeff and joining forces in a new challenge.

The challenge now is that if they make it to €2000 between them, not only will Jeff shave his head and paint it blue
(On 2nd December) for the entire day, but the three of them will wear smurf outfits for the day to go along with it (there will be photographic evidence to support this) and with their permission I will post the pictures here.

Any other ideas if further milestone’s are reached can ne posted as comments at the end of this post.

Thanks again for your support for this worthy cause and helping raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer.
